If I still have warranty on my iPhone can I get a free new charger UK?

I got a iPhone 5 on contract in December 2014 and the phone automatically comes with 1 year warranty. If I ask Apple to give me a new charger for free will they do so seeing as I got 1 years warranty

Warranty covers damage due to faults in the phone or service, not damage which could have been avoided (like water damage or dropping) or theft.
I assume you've lost your charger, so they wouldn't replace it for you.

Yes, you would need to give them back the old charger and say it isn't working.
