If iMessage someone in another country, will I get charged?
Me and a friend both have iPhones but I live in Canada and she lives in the US and I can't text her because of long distance charges. Right now, I'm using a shitty texting app to text her but from my knowledge i can iMessage her with Wi-Fi. But I'm out a lot and not always connected to my home Wi-Fi but I do have data, but will iMessaging with my data charge me because of my carrier?
You won't but remember to close the window or you will let the Wi-Fi out
IMessage uses Internet to send messages.So, yes it will use your data. Just make sure that you both have it turned on. And iMessage won't use SMS to send messages, so you won't have to worry about long distant charges.So, as long as you have enough data, you can send each other unlimited messages with iMessage
- Will I still be charged out if country for this? So I'm in Mexico right now and I don't want sprint to charge me for internet or anything. I have it on airplane mode and turned off cellular data in the settings. I'm running on Wi-Fi so that's how I get on here. Am I good or is there still a chance I can be charged? I have sprint and an iPhone 5s if that helps.
- Will I get charged for another activation fee? I Accidently reset all the settings on my iphone and when it finally booted up it told me "waiting for activation" 2-3 minutes later "activation complete" I was wondering if I'm going to get charged another activation fee. (I have Verizon wireless)
- Will i be charged if someone texts me from another country? My friend took a day trip to Canada yesterday (we live in the us) and was texting me the whole day. She said that since we both had iphones and were using iMessage that we wouldnt be charged, but she had Wi-Fi for a couple hours and while she was using the Wi-Fi she got charged for roaming since she wasn't using 3G. Will i be charged as well? It was in a group chat with two other girls as well and they are also worried. We're all on Verizon 3G plans
- Will data be charged for texting and calling outside the country to another iphone? My girlfriend is going to costa rica for the summer and i need to know will me calling and texting her use up my date. It would be facetime audio and imessage only. Also i have att if that matters.
