If my iPhone called 911 automatically but I hung up 1 second into dialing, would it still go through?
I was trying to check Medical ID and accidentally slid the Emergency SOS slider instead. Unlike the single previous time I accidentally slid it, it didn't give me a 5-second warning and time to cancel, but started dialing right away. I instinctively hit the "end" button instantly - less than 2 seconds into dialing - and am wondering if Emergency Services system would have still auto-completed. I haven't gotten a call back but I'm no longer where it went off, so I can't say I know that no officers went to check. I know to stay on the line and report it was a false dial, but I was expecting a "cancel" button once I realized what I did and hit "end call" instinctively in its place before I could think of this. Also, I don't have a SIM card at the moment, so I'm not sure if the call back would go through the 911 transponder or try the phone's normal call system. I'm worried they might think there's an emergency or that I'm trying to play a dumb prank. (Bit of a design flaw on Apple's part, removing the countdown. Auto-call is off, so that's not why it did this.)
Called the police department non-emergency number, and reported that it tried to dial. They said they didn't get any hang-up calls, but it's still a good idea to check. I guess rule of thumb is that if you instantly hang up, it probably won't go through -- but call non-emergency and check because it's important they know as soon as possible. I do know a few things about Emergency Services systems and if you let it go for even a few seconds, it will auto-report even after hanging up, I just wasn't sure about the threshold.
Not really I don't think. Since it isn't a mobile phone I don't think it's be that quick to get r
Rnaybe you should call thern back and tell thern you dialed it by rnistake
Only time you worry, is when they pick up on the other end, and ask what your emergency is, then hang up. If it is a valid number, they call back, to confirm that there's no emergency. 911, 800, and certain phone system, know what number is calling, even if your block the call. They even know if the numbers r is cellular, VoIP or copper landline, at least as far as the last time the number was ported. So in the case of pranks, crimes, threats, rooting out who actually the number belongs to, is not a hard thing to find out.
So if the call was still dialing, and your hung up, no problem.
- Why is it called third party? Who are the first and second party? So like in iPhone, you are not allowed to use a third part charger because it is not supported but I was wondering if there's a first party or a second party charger that exists?
- Why does Instagram automatically shorten my 41 second music video I made when you try to post it? I used the flipagram and my video I made is 41 seconds long, I have a iPhone 6. I know that they updated the Instagram to be able to post videos from 15 seconds to 60 seconds. When I go to upload the video on Instagram I click on the video and click next and it shows the preview and when I play the video it only plays like 15 secs of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
- When I go on a bike ride or just walk around, my phone screen turns on for some reason and starts dialing numbers in the Emergency Call? Also it has locked me out of my phone for putting in the wrong passcode numerous times. Is there an answer to fix this? I have an iPhone 6S
- What should I do if I called 911? Last night I was with friends and my phone must've turned rebooted. My SIM card is locked so upon starting up the phone will ask for a four digit password you can also choose to dial SOS. Just now I looked at my recent calls and saw that I had called 911 last night without my knowledge. The call was placed around 2:30 and it lasted about 34 seconds. Anything I should do. My cell phone carrier is AT&T and I broke my iPhone so I know use a trac phone with my iPhone SIM card. Any advice!
