If texting isn't apart of my plan do I get charged for using iMessage?
My iPhone plan includes 6GB of data, voice but I have no text messages. Do I get charged 0.25/ iMessage sent like if I were sending a regular text message?
No, it will only use data if you're not connected to Wi-Fi.
No, imessage is a free service from apple. It is instant messaging and it is unlimited from iPhone to ipod touch to ipad. Enjoy imessaging
Make sure you have the option off that says send as regular text when imessage not available. Just to make sure you don't accidently send as text, then as long as the box says imessage in it when it recognizes the user, its always free. Even internationally its free.
No, iMessage is separate from text messaging. Text messages use the cellular network while iMessage runs through the Internet (Wi-Fi or 3G/4G/LTE). As long as you have some sort of Internet connection (Wi-Fi/3G/4G/LTE), you should not be charged extra - unless you go over your allocated data.
And as stated by others, iMessage is a free service by Apple.
- Will I get charged for using Wi-Fi when my Sprint data plan is shut off? If I turn off the data plan for my iPhone 5 (with the intention if turning it back on), will I get charged for using the Internet using Wi-Fi?
- Will I get charged for using 3G Internet if I have the unlimited data plan? My carrier is Sprint. I have an iPhone 4. I'm asking if I'll be charged if I don't use Wi-Fi.
- Will I get charged for texting? So I'm from canada but I'm in the states right now visiting some relatives. I turned off my 4G and cellular data but I only texted my friend when I had Wi-Fi on. I'm worried though because I don't want to get charged. Will I? Both phones are from canada, both have unlimited texting and yeah. *TEXTING NOT IMESSAGE I USE AN IPHONE.
