If there's a sound balance control section in your iPhone's settings app, place the volume bar in the middle. However, if you have a broken pair of earphones, you can replace them.
They do that already. As was suggested you may have a bad pair of headphones.

If having water damage in your iPhone 5c means you aren't covered by warranty, is it acceptable to open it and try to fix it as opening it also means it isn't covered by warranty.
