Imessage keeps turning off on iphone 4 IOS 6?

I can get imessage to turn on but seems to keep turning itself off. I have 2 iphones on this account and it works fine for the one but other is giving me problems, any suggestions?

If you don't have data you're iMessage won't work.

iMessage uses "data"… If you are on an unlimited text message plan I would consider turning iMessage off anyway.

The other funky thing I've noticed with iMessage is that it also links to your e-mail address on file for iTunes. So if you have another device like a Mac that has iMessage App it could be confusing or overriding your phone features.
