IOS 6 and turning off the iPhone?
Ok so I have an iPhone 4. I recently updated the software to the new iOS 6 software. Before the update, I could turn my phone off while it was charging and now after the update it won't. Also, it doesn't make you "slide to power off" anymore. I wasn't sure if that was just one of the new features of the new update or what. If anyone else's does that, please let me know.
Yes it is still on iOS 6. But you can only do from the lock screen and home screen while you running of the battery.
I'm not sure about the iPhone 4 but I have an iPad 3 running iOS 6 and it does not have that problem. I would not expect Apple to change something important like that in only a few of their devices but not the others.
If the problem persists and you need to turn off your phone, then hold down the home button and the power button for a few seconds and it will perform an emergency shutdown. You could also put the iPhone into DFU mode if their is a firmware problem by plugging it into a computer running iTunes and holding the buttons but this time waiting for the phone to reboot twice you will then be able to restore the software.
But you should consult with an Apple technician if you can't solve the problem by shuttin it off for the first time, as by using DFU mode you will have to restore from a backup or wipe your data.
- Why is my iPhone 5 turning off and not turning back on? This has happened twice now. My iPhone 5 has turned off in the middle of the night with a full charge and off the charger, and when I try to turn it back on it takes a couple tries. Has anybody experienced this?
- My iPhone keeps turning on and off like it turns on and off. Can someone tell me? Okay tbms it turns on and off on and off and then sometimes it shows a red screen for a few seconds then off again and dies out. It's not the battery because I got that changed thinking that it was the cause and it wasn't. So is there anything someone can help me with? The repair guy tried restoring it through iTunes he said it didn't work either it just won't come on it doesn't go pass the Apple logo before shutting off and on again and dying out

- My iphone is randomly turning off ios 7? I have ios 7 for my iphone and i know it is beta and will have bugs but does anyone know how i can fix this? I don't even know if ios 7 is causing it because i got ios 7 a while ago and it just started doing this. It randomly turns black and won't do anything and it turned back on after a while but this time it is taking longer and it still won't work.
