Iphone 4 32gb won't connect to itunes or do any resets?

Hi, i have just brought a iphone 4 32gb, no matter what i do it won't connect to my itunes. Every time i connect to either of my laptops it comes up with 3 options - mass storage, webcam or COM port and you have to select one… All of them do nothing.

Also… I have been on tones of websites on resetting you iphone to factory settings i do every thing it says but when i re- plug in to my laptop it comes up with a battery filling up and nothing else. If i try to restor thorough my phone, the videos that i have been on have had options after the click on reset but mine just comes up with insert password but there's no password as it is a BRAND NEW phone. I tried all the obivous factory setting password but non of them work either!

Please help - i'm getting so frushtrated and i can't find anyone else with a similar problem! :/ thanks!

Not sure if it'll work, this morning my phone was only recognized as a camera. I reconnected a lot to no avail. I restarted my phone, didn't work, I then restarted the laptop and it worked as usual. Sometimes your firewalls or security on your computer is in conflict with iTunes. Google your question and look at the apple community pages for specific help, they've saved me multiple times.
