IPhone 4 battery dying in just a few hours.only 6 months old

So I got my wife an iphone for christmas and over the past couple of weeks, it has been dying very quickly, often dying within 6 to 8 hours even without being used. I've never seen anything like this from any smartphone and I have checked all of the background programs, but none of them are active that I can find (I've already done the double-tap trick to close the open programs)… Is there's some program I can download or do I need to contact verizon to see why is the phone is dying so fast now? I don't want to reset it if I don't have to, but if that's what it came down to it I would do it… I'm just hoping for a simple fix and I'm sure that verizon doesn't have more than 6 months of a warranty on these, do they?

Do a system restore of the iphone. It is the only way to fix the battery problem.

The warranty of an iPhone is 1 year? Unless they changed it? There might be some problem with the battery which means you should take it to an Apple store for their feedback on the situation.

But, then again, the problem might be how you guys took care of it.

- Never keep it in temperatures that are extremely high or low. I think it should stay in 70's.
- Never let the iPhone charge more than it should. It kills the battery a tiny bit every time it's charging 'overtime'.
- Only do a full cycle charge about once a month which means the battery goes to a 100% charge.
- Don't do overnight charges.
- If the iPhone is heating up, stop whatever you're doing and cool it down. It might be a problem with your case (if you have one, and you should have one).

  • Why does Apple keep making and release new iPhones every few months? Like why did they make then Iphone 6 just make and release the iPhone 6 plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s plus? What is the point of apple doing this doesn't apple not have enough money? It's like if you have windows 7 and you upgrade to windows 8 then they come out with windows 8.1 then a year later they come out with windows 10 like why i already upgraded why do i need to upgrade again?
  • My iphone has been acting up over the last few months? Iphone 3gs! My iphone has been acting up over the last few months, when I click 'contacts' it says I have none, but I can still find them when I type their name into the search bar, and it also does the same thing for photos, and now I struggle to connect to the Wi-Fi unless i'm within 10 feet of my wireless router.
