IPhone 4 HDMI adapter won't work? - 1

I have an iPhone 4 adapter like the one in the link to display video on my TV. When I tried using it however, all i got was a black screen. When I unplugged the adapter and plugged in my laptop to its HDMI port, it worked. I never changed components and it was always on HDMI 2 which was the port it was connected to into The TV. Any suggestions?

It's a faulty adapter port, maybe some dust or a bent pin.

Try turning the display adapter on before you turn the TV on, in other words make sure that the adapter is sending a signal to the TV before you turn on the TV. What also might work is if the adapter is connected to HDMI 1 switch the input on the TV set to HDMI 2 and then back to 1.

I don't have a iPhone 4 adapter, but I've run into this problem with some other equipment. It has something to do with the DRM (digital rights management) that is built into HDMI if your adapter is not authenticating correctly with the TV, the TV will shut the picture off to "protect" the content.
