IPhone 4 - still good phone?

I'm currently in the process of leaving Verizon and switching to a non-contract place, Virgin Mobile. I'm trying to find a phone with a *good* camera, as I'm constantly taking pictures, and one with all of the necessary updates to have it function 100%, of course.
I have been using Android ever since I got a smartphone and am thinking of switching to the iPhone because I know it's reliable and is one of the better phones Virgin Mobile has.
My question is, can I get an iPhone 4 and still be happy with it even though the 5 is out? The 4 is only $160 compared to the 5C's $350. Is a brand new 4 going to run well and have the latest iOS and all that, or is it all but mandatory that I go to the 5?

Yes. I have an iPhone 4 and I'm really happy with it and everything works on it just fine. I don't plan on getting the iPhone 5 until I can get for free or pay super cheap for it. Although the newer iPhones do have a better camera quality better then the iPhone 4/4s for sure. So consider that when choosing the 4 camera is good but is not the best compared to the 5

Don't ever buy anything apple.
I forgot which phone exactly but there's s phone with a, I believe, 16 megapixel camera.
There are a lot of phones better than IPhones.
Don't buy an iPhone just because everyone else has one

No, Androids lead now, its just the better phone.

Well the iPhone 4s is still around, quite a few people have it still and it seems to run just fine! It doesn't have the processor or camera quality that that 5's have, but it's still very usable. It runs iOS 7, and from what i've seen, it takes pretty good pictures. If you're talking about the iPhone 4 though, not the 4s, I would advise you to just get another android phone. The original iPhone 4 is very obsolete, it doesn't run iOS 7 (Apple's latest software), it's got a pretty slow processor compared to any other smartphone on the market right now, and what you're getting for the price ($160) is NOTHING! You could find an iPhone 4 for FREE if you looked hard enough, I use my friend's old one as an iPod touch. It works, but it's very slow and glitchy, not to mention that it is completely dropped from Apple's product line up. If you absolutely had to get a 4, I would really hope you get the 4s!

  • Is the iphone 4S still a good phone to get? I currently have the palm pre plus and hate it, I'm eligible for an upgrade and I want an iphone. But I don't wanna spend a lot of money so is the iPhone 4s a good buy
  • Is the iphone 4s still a good phone? - 1 Right now Verizon is offering the IPhone 4s for free and I was wondering if it's still a good phone choice. I have an ipod 4g so I know how to use an iphone so it would save me from having to learn how to use the phone. My only concern is that the phone is only 3g, whereas the other smartphones the offer support 4g. Should I get the IPhone 4s or one of their free droid or samsung phones?
  • Is the iPhone 4 still a good phone to get? I may be getting a new phone but I don't know what kind of phone to get. The two options are iPhone 4 or LG Enact, thank you for your help!
  • Is the iPhone 4 still a good phone? - 1 I currently have an iPod Touch 2nd Gen, Apple killed it off quite a while ago and I was thinking of getting an iPhone. I can get one for about £170. Might be able to get a 4S instead if I wait a month. I'd only use it mainly for the camera and iMessage because I play games on my PC and I don't really see the attraction of gaming on a touch screen.
