IPhone 4S dying extremely quickly?

I updated to iOS 8 a few days after the update released. A few days after that, my phone's battery has been draining at an alarming rate: as I wrote this question, the percentage went from 25 to 19. That's within roughly a minute to a minute and a half.

Furthermore, my phone's battery might go from 55% all the way down to below 20% in a cold room or on a hot day, so temperatures for some reason affect it, usually by draining battery like I said, or through several annoying system failures.

Any reason for the battery becoming so horrible all of a sudden? Is it the operating system? Or something else?
Lastly: no, I do not use battery-draining apps or cellular data much at all.

IOS 8 was made for the iPhone 6. The iPhone 4 can't handle and was not built for that powerful high tech software. It's trying hard to run the program which is causing it to work harder, which means using more energy and power. Hence your battery lowering at an alarming rate!

  • Why does my iPhone 4S drain extremely fast when 4G is turned on? I always keep my 4G data off because if I leave it on, I'll lose a large percentage of my battery. Why is this? I use AT&T. How do I make my battery not drain? Its a huge difference between the rate my battery drains when you compare it to when I only have Wi-Fi on.
  • My iPhone runs out of battery extremely quickly? I charge it all night so it's at 100% in the morning, and if i'm extremely lucky and hardly use it, i can reach noon with my phone dying out. My bluetooth is never on, I keep the screen-light almost on the lowest, and i never use the speakers. I bought it a year ago, and my friends never have this problem. Suggestions?
  • IPhone battery dying quickly? About two months ago, i dropped my phone & is badly cracked. Just this morning, my phone was on 83% and just went automatically to 1% and it happened about 3 times this morning. This has happened before. Can anyone help me?
  • IPhone 4S earpiece speaker extremely quiet? Since updating to iOS 6 the in call volume of the earpiece has been so low I can't even hear the person on the other line. Has anyone else had this problem or know what the fix could be? The hasn't been any water damage and I don't use a screen protector. Any help is great help, thanks
