Added (1). When I plug my iphone in, it can't be found and I'm trying to sync music from itunes. When I troubeshooted my iphone it said that my iphone was an old device and may not work with USB 3.0. But this is the first time this has happened, my USB stuff has always worked. And whenever I plug my iphone in it asks me if I trust this computer, which I always say yes to but nothing happens. Please someone help me!
I had a problem that was similar to yours, with my IPhone 4. I fixed it by using the original USB cable that my phone came with, because I was using one that I had ordered online. So maybe that's your issue, unless you are using your original cable.
Restore the iPhone & re-install iTunes. Start with this.
