IPhone 4s upgrading to iOS 6?

Can anyone tell me if upgrading to ios 6 is worth it? And if so will any of my data be deleted from upgrading 5.1.1 to 6?

If you want new apps, you should upgrade. The more recently made an app is, the more likely it requires the most recent iOS version. Just realize that once you upgrade it is very, very difficult to "downgrade," so if you have some specific reason for choosing iOS5 over iOS6, then don't upgrade.

Your data *should* remain intact, but it isn't a bad idea to back up your data by connecting to iTunes and doing a backup before going through with the update.

  • Will upgrading iPhone 4 to iOS 6 completely delete jailbreak? I know it will get rid of jailbreak, which I don't mind at all. However, I have read through different forums that sometimes the jailbreak is never completely deleted because some files still remain in phone. I would not want that to be the case (I might as well not upgrade, I don't want those files possibly causing any performance problems). So, what say you? I want to try iOS 6 on my iPhone 4.

Will doing this delete ANY contacts, emails, apps, notes and calendar reminders? I'm MOST concerned about CONTACTS. I have more than 1000 of Contacts.
