IPhone 5 actual storage capacity?
I'm looking at buying a 16GB iPhone 5, and I know that it is sold/advertised as having 16GB memory, but I know that it is likely to be actually a little less than that, like maybe 12GB or something. Does anyone know what the actual storage capacity is?
Estimated to be around 13~14GB
Every iphone needs an operating system that actually 'runs' the iphone. Remember, the iPhone is really a mini computer - not a phone. So to run an operating system (in this case ios), you need disk space. Apple generally uses around 1 GB of that disk space give or take to run the iphone. Therefore generally you will have around 15GB to actually 'use' (any tech types will probably correct me and state that it is actually around 14.9GB, and they would be correct - I just rounded it up.
Hope this helps- have a great day.
13.46GB
- Will my iphone run slow if i use up all/most of storage capacity? I got a 32 GB iphone 5. If i put all my music on there + all my apps, pictures, and videos, ill only have about 1 GB left. Will this slow down my iphone at all? What if i end up using all the storage? What's a good of amount of storage to leave free in order for performance not to be affected?
- What to do about my iphone storage saying I'm using up way more photo storage than I actually am? My storage says I have 132 photos that's using up most of my storage; almost 3 GB. I have only 52 photos and 15 videos in my phone. It seems like it may be using storage from pictures I deleted, but apparently they're still using space? ? Has this happened to anyone else. I've taken my phone to an apple store, and I didn't get any answers.
- What takes up the other portion of my iPhone storage capacity? I have the iPhone 4 and almost 1/3 of my capacity is taken up my "other" and I want to know what that is so i can do something about it.
- On the I cloud on the Iphone what does total storage and available storage mean? Basically it says total storage 5gb and availible storage 5 gb. Does that mean there's already 5 gb of files on the Icloud?
