Iphone 5 is out of charge too fast! Any advice?
Its going out of charge within 3 hours, so I have to constantly have it on charge! What's wrong with it? I have already tried all those tips to reduce brightness, close apps etc but nothing
Could it be due to old charger? Or that my phone is old?

Try logging out of your apps, such as Facebook, instagram etc.

If you have done all of that then the battery may be failing and in need of replacement.
Is it 3 or 4 years old? The battery may have run its course, you could get a new one put in at the apple store pretty cheaply, and it would be like a new phone again.
I think your Charger or Charging port is damaged and You need to install LEO Privacy Guard 3.0, it has many advanced features in it and you will also have fingerprint unlock in it.
