IPhone 5 software update - Recovery Mode?
I decided to update iphone to 6.1, it downloaded the patch and rebooted, now it's in recovery mode. The only option I have is to reset it to factory settings. Will I be able to restore everything (contacts most importantly) after I've done that? I used iTunes to upload songs on iphone and saw "backing up". Not sure if this backup still exists.

One thing, that you pointed out is to be sure that your contacts and possibly other data isn't lost.
What I'd recommend you do, to be on the safer side of things, get a backup recovery software.
It would extract data from your iPhone's backup and save it on your computer. I would personally recommend getting Total Saver from MyPhoneData, for economics and its ease of use. Hit the source link for details.
You can then without any fear restore your iPhone - restore would possibly wipe things out and set it up as a new iPhone. But because you would already be having your contacts, photos etc backed up, you are load them back to your phone via different means.

OK so heres the thing, for the update i deleted a load of crap apps to be able to download it but heres the problem. once it had finished downloading it went into recovery mode and now its only letting me ''update and restore'' (on itunes on my computer) so basically it then says there's not enough space because its adding the update and everything including the apps i deleted for the update in the first place Please Please Please Help ME! any help appreciated <3
