Iphone 5 unlock and switch carriers? How to go from sprint to at&t?
Hey sorry i'm new to this. But basically my Girlfriend is getting Iphone 6 and is giving me her Iphone 5. So i'm reading on how to unlock it and switch carriers. This all seems really complicated. I understand that it has something to do with companies having certain frequencies that relate to their 4G LTE services. And so i'm wondering if there's some way, that is either free or cheap, that does not include viruses, that I can go from her Sprint service to my AT&T service, and use it to the fullest extent.
Yes, but any unlock codes you buy online that actually work will not be free; they aren't cheap either. Why? Because until next year it is still illegal to do it in the US. Unlock codes can run $60-150 easy and it's 50/50 that you don't get ripped off. Easiest way? Sell/swap it for an ATT iPhone 5 and move on. Best luck.
You can get the Sprint iPhone 5 factory unlocked and use the phone with AT&T. Unlock codes are not used for unlocking the iPhone. If you need help with gettint the phone factory unlocked, mail me.
- Would I be able to switch carriers without having to switch phones? I'm with Consumer Cellular and I have an iPhone SE, but I'm thinking of switching carriers so that I can get unlimited data. I don't want to get a new phone because I've had my current one about six months, I really like it, and it works great. I'm not locked into a contract with Consumer Cellular. Would I be able to switch to another carrier without having to purchase a new phone?
- If i switch carriers will I have to restart my phone? I want to switch carriers. Right now I have metro pcs but I'm planning to switch to T-Mobile. I got a new iPhone about 2 months ago so if I switch carriers I'm not looking on buying a new phone. So will I have to restart my phone to switch? Will I loose anything like pictures, apps, or stuff like that?
- Should I switch carriers for the iPhone 5S? I want to buy the 5S, but right now I here that you can only buy the unlocked version for T mobile. Sprint, At&t, and Verizon all have it for a two year, $200 dollar contract. Should I switch carriers?
- Is it possible to switch straight talk carriers? I have an AT&T iPhone on straight talk. It was ok where I used to lie, but where I'm now I have absolutely no service. Is there a way I can switch it to Verizon and get on Verizon towers, while staying on straight talk plan?
