Iphone 5 won't connect with car usb port?
I have a bmw 328i xdrive with a usb port and i plug my iphone 5 into the charger and it works for a few seconds then says something about being unsupported and then runs off battery again is there anything i can do to fix this
Cars with USB ports don't usually have as much power as a computer or wall plug… Some cars will charge your phone but very slowly… USB ports in cars are usually designed to transfer data, not energy… That way you can listen to music from your phone or a flash drive
The answer to this might depend on the hardware in your car.
In my Lincoln with Ford's Sync system, the phone connects by Bluetooth AND/OR USB. Using the USB cable allows me to control the music and other phone functions to a much greater degree than if I use Bluetooth Streaming Audio (only allows me to start/stop or move back/forward). Bluetooth also connects to the phone function in the car, regardless of whether I use a USB cable or not.
Regarding the iPhone 5, the connector, and your car, have you asked Honda about this? They may have to issue an update to their connectivity system in order for the iPhone 5 to work properly. On the other hand, it may work straight out of the box. My guess is that most, if not all, of the functions available through the car system will be compatible with the iPhone 5.
- Why port forwarding on port 80? I have a foscam home security camera and it needs port forwarding on port 80 if I want to use my iphone to view it from outside. Surely enough, it works as soon as I open that port. But isn't port 80 open by default? Else how could I view http websites in the first place. I don't get it. It's already open so why open it again?
- My computer USB port won't recognize my iPod but it recognizes my iPhone? Hi! Ok so I have a dell 15' laptop that's barely a year old and my USB port will accept my iPhone and flash drives, but not my iPod classic. I know for sure it's not my iPod since it was recognized on my moms computer and its not the cord because I've tried several different iPod cords… It doesn't seem to recognize my moms iphone 4 either! So if anyone knows how to fix it please please please help!
- JVC car receiver won't play iphone music through usb? I bought a jvc detachable face receiver for my truck and it will not play any of my music. It shows the track, the album artwork and the duration but it WLL NOT make a sound. Is there something i need to change on the settings? ( I have an iphone 5 but I've tried it with an iphone 4 and an iPod)
- Iphone 5c won't charge on wall charger but will on usb computer port? My iphone5c gets a message when plugged in to wall charger saying "this device may not be supported" and it won't charge yet if I use my pc usb port it says nothing and charges right up every time and I can't understand why my wall charger makes it say that and won't charge it?
