Iphone 5s submerged into soda for 5 minutes. Can it be fixed?
Last night I left my phone to charge in my friend's truck. A few minutes later my friend brought my iphone to me saying that someone knocked my phone into the cupholers that were full of liquid and left it there. I did the stupid response of trying to turn the phone on only to result in it showing a faint red light by the front facing camera. I rushed home and placed my phone in a bag of rice and it has been sitting for 19 hours. I really needed a list from my notes so I attempted to turn it on but it still won't. I did notice that water from inside the camera lens is gone though.
Is there any other way to fix water damage besides rice?
If the phone does not turn on, can I retrieve my notes, apps, or other information without having back the phone up recently?
Thank you so much for your answers and please don't reply with just a "no" and ideas will help!
Notes, yes go to icloud.com the picture below is from the website. Apps no I'm sorry you can't, but if you get a new iPhone or even an iPad you should be able to download them all again but I don't think the memory of what was in the apps will stay. If you have a Mac, iPod, or iPad, all your messages should stay in iMessage as long as you use the exact same apple id. This is the *only* thing I like about apple.
Any other advice I can give is maybe try putting it with Silica Gels (those little packets you get in a new bag or backpack) I've heard they're in diapers. I caution you though because one of the little spherical gels I guess is how you would describe it got stuck in my iPod's audiojack years ago so be wary of that.
Water damaged phones can be fixed. It must be dis assembled and the logic board washed in a cleaning solution in an ultra sonic wave machine and dried out with a special process. Locate an experienced cell phone repair person in your area preferably one that is Wild CPS certified.
This is a soda damaged phone and not just water. It might be very difficult to get the phone back.
- What to do if you spilled soda on your iPhone? I just accidentally spilled my full glass of pop on my iPhone? What should I do? The sound isn't working now and it's being slow.
- What happens if you spill a little bit of soda on your iphone? So yesterday, I spilled a little bit of soda on the die of my iphone, but it wasn't really that bad to me. Just a little big on the side, but I don't think anything got into the internal. And now I feel like its running kind of slow, or am I just paranoid?
- My iphone was fully submerged in a pool for several minutes? I'm trying the rice method which I have read about with mixed results, but I assume it is going to be a complete loss. I have read something about an out of warranty replacement. It is a 4s and bought less than a year ago. Does anyone have experience with this?
- My Iphone 5 got wet. Can I take it into Apple to get fixed? The indicator did not go off. But the headphone jack is messed up and makes my music sound horrible. Also, my home button does not work. Is there anyway to maybe fix it?
