IPhone 6 camera vs HTC Re. And other factors?

I'm traveling abroad for 6 months and was considering buying the HTC Re point and shoot camera.

I'm stuck asking myself the question of 'is it worth it?' Being would it be that much better than the plain iPhone 6 camera?

-Does anyone know how the camera and video shots compare?

I think it would be nice to have something that is small, and easy to point and shoot, and would help when my phone battery is low. Any thoughts?

The slow motion video and burst mode on iphone is pretty cool features.

Many people have complained about the photo quality on the iPhone 6 (do a Google search), despite Apple's promotion and advertising otherwise. If you want to make sure you get good pictures, I suggest you also take a camera.

Have you thought about where you're going to store and save all the pictures you take over 6 months? HINT: Don't keep them on your phone and in your camera due to the risk of losing everything. Take a computer or other storage device with you and/or have multiple SD memory cards for your camera.

HTC is primarily a cellphone manufacturer. They are not known for good cameras. If you want easy to use cameras on the cheap side, go for a Fujifilm Finepix. If you want it easy and last long, get a Sony Cybershot. If you want to add great optics to that, get a Pentax. Ifyou want the camera to go literally everywhere you go, grab a Ricoh WG.

Reviews say that the image quality is similar to that of a common smartphone. If you have a smartphone, you will be disappointed as you won't get any better photo or video out of it.
The problem is the sensor. Smartphones have the smallest sensors, and as a consequence, also have the smallest pixels. The small pixels is really the cause as to why the images and video from smartphones are so poor.

You're spending so much time, effort and money on this 6-month trek, why use such low-end, poor-quality equipment. Get yourself a decent camera. Even a used Canon G series will outperform any smartphone in both video and photos. You can pick up a used G10, for example, for around $130 from keh.com
