IPhone 6s Plus in Otterbox Defender shattered?

Today at school, I got my phone out of my purse to check my text messages. This was at lunch and we re allowed to have phones out. Well, someone bumped into me and I dropped my phone. It landed on the screen part. It completely shattered the screen! Is this common? Can you suggest another type of case to get?

The same thing may have happened with ANY case. All a case does is REDUCE the chances of glass breaking on your phone. A good side jolt will break a screen easier with NO case, than it will with a case on the phone, and each time you drop your phone, with or without a case, you run the risk of the screen shattering. And those face plant type falls, if it's on a hard surface like tile or concrete, case or no case, it will only stand so many such jolts, even with a case and tempered glass.

No case is going to completely protect your phone in every possible situation. There are some cases that are like a portfolio with a flap that folds and covers the screen when you aren't using the phone. Of course, if you drop the phone with the flap open, same problem.

  • Should I get the Otterbox Defender series case for my iPhone 4? I really like the look of the defender series case, and I like all of the security it provides. So the big question: should I get it? Is it extremely bulky? Does the plastic casing part scratch the phone? Why do you like and dislike?

Just curious because i bought it last monday and its scheduled to be delivered today and so on ebay the iphone 6 s call of duty defender series is selling as rare. Well my question is or what i wanna know is Whether the the iphone 6 s / iphone 7 and 8 call of duty defender series is rare? Or not
