IPhone 6s storage almost full AFTER restoring
My iPhone 6s is up to date with IOS 11.2.1. I have the 32GB phone. I've restored my phone from settings multiple times and still says my memory is full with NOTHING on my phone. No apps. No pictures. No music. I've hooked it to iTunes & tried to restore it from there as well but it wants to update it first THEN restore it but it's already up to date with the latest version of iOS therefore it stops midway with an error message & I can't restore it from iTunes. If someone can help it'd be much appreciated!
Every time you upgrade the operating system the data for doing that is stored on the phone's memory, AS WELL as the data of previous updates and the operating system. I can't understand why people think they need to keep updating the system all the time, it's like a disease!
If you're referring to media that you added in the past. Probably due to synchronization settings.
The backup you're restoring has a disk space issue that can only be corrected by erasing the device and setting up AS NEW, not from a backup. If you restore from a backup, this will happen every time.
This is what I'd recommend to do.
Settings-->General-->Reset-->Erase all content and settings
Select language, country, Wi-Fi, then select "SET UP AS NEW IPHONE"
Then sign into iCloud.
If you plug the device into your computer, do not allow the computer to restore from a backup in iTunes. Make sure to select "Set up as new" when prompted to place a backup back into the phone.
It sounds like something has got corrupted.
Do a DFU update rather than trying to restore it. That does a full reinstall of the operating system rather than just clearing user data.
- Why my iphone 5a says storage is almost full why I've almost nothing? So my iphone 5s says my storage is almost full while pictures is about 800! And I've no music no books and no big apps! This happened before And I tried deleting all pictures and most of the apps but nothing changed! So I had to format & update my phone then it worked… Now it happened again I can't delete my stuff because it's ridiculous! Why do I have to do this while my phone isn't really full:"( Now I have only 251 MB available:"
- Why does my iPhone 4S keep on saying 'storage almost full' all the time? I got my iPhone 4S about 2 months ago and I have deleted loads of apps, pictures and all the messages I've sent off it but it keeps saying my storage is almost full, why is it doing this I need help please
- What do I do if my iCloud storage is almost full? I got a message saying I have 500 MB remaining. Of 5 GB of storage space. How do I remove the data without buying more storage space?
- Storage almost full on iPhone 5? I got an iPhone 5 for Christmas and after the most recent update I've been receiving a message that says 'Storage Almost Full, manage your storage in Settings'. I have a little over 200 pictures and 300 songs, and the biggest app I have is Instagram. I share an iTunes account with my mom and my younger sister, could that be the reason that my storage is almost full?
