IPhone 7s power button stuck

Not sure if I should contact apple themselves about this, or go call my insurance.

The power button is stuck inward, so my fiancé can't turn it off. This wasn't a result of dropping or anything, it just happened. I googled it and noticed this happening to a lot of people. I don't have apple care, since we couldn't afford it. We do have another insurance but like I said, since this is a defect of the device should we just contact apple?

Dirt and grime. Use a dry toothbrush first and try to dislodge the ickies. They try a wooden toothpick. NO METAL EVER! Spray a little bit of windex, etc. On a corner of a micro cloth and rub around the button, using your fingernail to get into that round edge. Then try the brush again. Things get icky, no matter how clean we personally are. I tell people here all the time, to clean out their charging port, because pocket dust gets compacted into FELT in there - the plug on the cord wiggle, s you have to hold it still to get it to charge - and when you use a wooden toothpick to remove the dust - TONS of it in there!

BTW - you can turn off your p[hone my holding the top right button AND The Home button at the same time - the *turn off* slider comes up.

If you have a case or screen protector that has a hole for your button to work thru, it acts like a FUNNEL for even more dirt! So I find that if I take off my case, I can clean better. Does not have to be done often - I set a phone reminder for like once a month. I'm this fussy about other equipment - as a professional classical musician, I handle a small fortune in musical instruments every day, and their perfect condition affects my income! I also have a showroom-perfect looking car - that is thirteen years old. It only take a minute to clean and maintain things - and it takes YOURS OR DAYS to make it right when they fail on you, or break.
