Iphone 8 activation?
I recently bought an unlocked iphone 8 and i tried activating it by plunging it in to my laptop and running itunes but it says i need a sim card? Does this mean the phone wasn't unlocked after all? Is there any way to check the carrier of it?
On pretty much all iPhone models, you need to put in a SIM card at least one during the setup process. It doesn't matter if the phone is unlocked or not; it still needs a SIM card. There's no way around this.
If the phone is unlocked, it will accept any carrier's SIM as long as it is physically compatible. If it isn't unlocked, it will only accept the SIM card of the carrier that it is locked to. And as far as I'm aware, there's no way to know what carrier the phone is from.
Call your carrier and they should send you one
- Why does my iphone randomly say activation required? So the other day I was just using my iPhone 4 running IOS 6 beta and I had shut down my iPhone completely for about 2 hours and then when i turned it back on, it said "activation required and it wants me to connect to Wi-Fi to connect to apples activation servers. It will not let me get to my home screen and everytime I try to activate it it tells me to try again later. BTW, it also says no service at the top of my iPhone. And this has also happened to my iPad.

I jail broke to use the iPhone as an iPod & i can't restore all of my music/apps/photos to it because iTunes still says " there's no sim card in the phone you are attempting to activate" how can i get itunes to recognize the phone as 'activated'? - Thanks in advance
- IPhone update/activation The last time I updated my phone, it was to 4.2? And I just got the latest update. Unfortunately, iTunes won't "finish" the update. By that I mean the update is finished, but when I go to activate my phone again, it says the session has timed out. I've tried rebooting iTunes, my iPhone, my computer, I reinstalled iTunes, but it still says the session has timed out. Any ideas?
- Iphone says your iphone can't be activated bc the activation server is temporarily unavailable? I called the carrier i have and they said to reset my phone so i did it still just says this i can't even use my phone what do i do
