Iphone and music problem

So I'm on a windows 7. I downloaded songs - lol i didn't buy them - but i downloaded them from the internet. And now they are in my downloads, and ya my computer knows its media so it will sync or burn. But, I'm having troubles with it. I plug in my iphone, and it says no device is plugged in still to sync them all into my music on my iphone. So then, since that was in the windows media thing, i opened itunes, and put the downloaded music into the music file, all the way at the top of itunes, if you can understand lol. So since my downloads are in the music files, i tried to put them into a playlist or something just so i can have them on my phone. But their not syncing into it. And i don't want to give up now because i basically spend the whole day trying to do this and this is for my cousins party soon so i need some anwsers soon or else no music at her party! Please help, and i will also answer yours. Please please please please please.

If you have already downloaded the songs to your computer and wish to sync them to your iPhone, you need to put the songs in the iTunes Media Folder on your computer. Go into My Computer, click on Music in the side bar to your left, then click on iTunes. Next, click on the iTunes Media Folder that comes up. After that, in the window, you will see several different folders. You need to copy and paste the songs into the folder labeled Music. After this, close iTunes and open it back up again. The songs should be in your music library. If they are there, proceed to sync your iPhone and the songs should be there.
