Try rebooting your PC and your iPhone. If it's a Windows PC, hit restart, not shut down and turn it back on as this will use ready boot and not reload all the services.
If the problem persists you should search in the Apple forums for iTunes related help of other users that have had a similar problem, you might have to reinstall iTunes or update it. If you're syncing wirelessly you should try doing t with the cable, it might be a network problem.
