IPhone charging problem
When I try to charge my iphone on my macbook air my iphone keeps disconnecting within about ten seconds of using it. It has been fine for a while but this problem has arose since only a few days ago. This is what the pop up says:
Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled.
To prevent damaging your computer, the USB device drawing too much power has been disabled. Other devices may have also been disabled. When you disconnect the device drawing too much power, your other USB devices will be enabled again.
Thank you if you have any suggestions or know what is causing this.
In My Past Experience, It's Usually A Problem With The Cable Itself Being Defective - If You Have Another It Would Be Best To Try It Out. If There's No Change, Try Switching Computers (Best To With A New Cable, But If Not - Try The Old One) To Charge It (If That's Accessible) To See If You Get A Similar Message With Another Mac (Windows Generally Will Not Give You That Warning Message). If It Still Does That After Switching The Cable And The Computer, It May Be The Regulator Chip On The Dock Connector, Which Would Need To Be Replaced.
In Short
1) Try Replacing Cable (If You Have Another Readily Available)
2)Try Using With Another Mac (Not Windows - As The Same Error Might Not Pop Up) To Make Sure It's Not Your Mac (With Or Without A New Cable)
3) Reset SMC As Well Following The Link Below
Either Way - I'd Recommend Resetting The SMC On Your Mac, In Case It's A Thermal Regulation Issue:
