Iphone help: Syncing apps and updating IOS?
I just received an iPhone 4 from a friend, and some of her apps are still here. (These apps were downloaded from her account) I also want to update the IOS, but when I do, it tells me that all media files will be erased. I tried syncing apps to my account, but it won't transfer. I don't want to erase any of her files, just in case she needs it. How do I make sure that all the media files are kept, but I still get to download the newest IOS?
The problem is, assuming your friend used her iPhone tied to her Apple ID, and your iTunes uses your Apple ID, iTunes, iPhone, and the Apple IDs will interfere and will request for one of the three to be wiped out.
If Apple ID) You will no longer be able to access the old Apple ID on the device for. I believe it was 3 months
If iTunes) The content on your iTunes would re-sync to what's on the phone, wiping out what you have; or
If iPhone) Which what would happen when you update from iOS 4 anyway, you lose all your content on the phone.
The bottom line is, if your friend really needs something from the phone to be backed up to her computer before giving it to you, tell them to do so. By the end of the update process, the content has to be gone from access one way or another.

I was wondering how do I update it from iOS 5.1.1 to iOS 6.1.3? (Keeping in mind it NEEDS to be jailbroken to work)
