IPhone isn't recognized after failed restore in recovery mode?

I was trying to update my iPhone 4S' software, and iTunes said it had failed due to an "unknown error". This has happened before, so I disconnected my iPhone and it came up in iTunes as in recovery mode. I clicked "restore", and after preparing it for the restore process, it said it "failed to an unknown error" again. I disconnected my phone and now iTunes won't detect my phone, and I can't escape from the screen with the USB and the iTunes logo on it.

  • Iphone will not restore from recovery mode? I tried to restore my iphone via itunes but is now stuck in recovery mode. I press 'Restore' on itunes and it downloads the software (takes about half an hour!) and then nothing happens. There's no error message or anything. I've tried this several times now. Now my phone is stuck in recovery mode and iTunes doesn't even recognized that its connected. So now my phone has become a brick and I've spent the last two hours looking up how to fix it. I've tried updating my itunes, dfu mode, uninstalling the usb driver, and i just don't know what else to do. So if someone could help me out i would really appreciate it.
