IPhone Not Responding to Deleting Texts?

To make this question short, sweet, and to the point, I've got around 70,000 text messages on my IPhone 5s that I need to delete. I figured this would happen but when I tried to mass delete the texts but my text messaging app stopped responding. When I would relaunch the app, all of my text messages would be gone, including the messages I attempted to delete. When I tried to send a text message (and or IMessage), the sending bar would get to the end and stop, and the app would just crash all together.

From here I attempted to restart my phone to see if this would help. When I turned my phone back on, I was surprised to see every text message back on my phone, including the messages I attempted to delete. I knew when I needed to delete these messages that it might take some time for my phone to react but wasn't aware that this would occur. Is there any workaround or should I just let my phone sit for awhile and try to process my request?

At Google, we host a large number of "tech talks". These talks cover a wide rage of Computer Science topics like research in machine learning and methods for ranking images based on text queries.

Whoa. 70k is a lot. If it's processing I would say to leave it alone for some time. Best luck.

Explain in more detail please.

  • Problem deleting texts from iPhone 4? I'm running out of storage on my iPhone, so I decided to clean house. My texts are one of my biggest storage uses, because I never delete them, so I started there. Unfortunately, I've sent and received so many texts from some people that I can't mass delete them. Everytime I try my phone freezes for 10 minutes, crashes, and restarts, with all of the texts still there. I really don't want to delete them one by one… Does anyone have a solution?
