Iphone software upgrade won't let me restore my backed-up stuff

I have an iphone 3 and I (stupidly) upgraded the software without a sim card in it, without realising that you need an active sim to finish the upgrade and get the phone working again.
I had just been using it as a computer but I had the app NOTES and it was full of personal notes, bank details, passwords etc. And it hasn't been restored. In fact, nothing at all got restored once I finally got another sim card in (different network provider). I'm heartbroken - I can't find it anywhere on my computer, even in the Apple files. Anyone any ideas?

Restore from earlier backup by pressing shift while clicking the restore button, should pop up a folder with previous backups.

  • Why won't my iPhone 4s let me update my software to IOS 6? I've tried everything to try to get it to update! It's really starting to piss me off to the point of wanting to get rid of my phone and going back to my old android phone! Anything that may help is appreciated. I have 3gb available, so that isn't the problem. It says it's installing, then an error message pops up.

I have a **** ton of screenshots of memes and stuff on my iphone and it took up almost all the space but i also have alot of family pics and stuff… I want to reset my phone i get my storage back but i don't want to loose it forever yes i know i know you can backup your phone with itunes but if i back up my reset phone it will overwrite the old backup how can i keep a old backup and have a new backup?
  • My iphone won't let me update software because it doesn't have enough storage? Most of my stuff on my phone is music. I have the iphone 4 and it said I need 2.5 gb to update. If I delete some stuff on my phone and update it can I put it back on there without a problem?
  • If you erase a backed up iphone, can you restore the data? I have a glitch, and want to erase all data. However, I want to restore the data afterwards; is that at all possible if the iPhone is backed up on a computer?
