Iphone submerged in water, will iphone repair person need my passcode to my phone?
I was fishing with my cousin and I sliped down this steep slope and my phone was under water with me in this river! I went to my cousins house and put it in rice… Few minutes later I picked up my phone and the screen was working and I could swipe and what not. But power button didn't work. The flash light ( camera flash) wouldn't turn off also… My uncles friend told me to keep it in rice and let it die… I couldn't turn it off so I just let it die… Today I went home and plugged it in the charger… And it was charging! The apple logo appeared and light came on again, then random writing popped up above the logo.
My dad said he is taking it to this guy who cleans and fixes phones… And I was just wondering is this phone repair guy going to need my passcode? I don't understand why he would but will he?
What are you so worried about? His job is to see if the phone is fully working. If he needs the code, just give it to him. Unless you have something to hide ;/
Oh no we don't need passcodes, be warned many things can still be wrong with your phone that have to be tested. If your phone is passcoded and your dad spends the $65 to repair it, and we can't even test it out, you may be disappointed with the result, cameras may need to be replaced, mics, antennas, you are basically saying you don't care if they work you would rather just not let the repair shop try.
- Why does the iphone repair man need the passcode to my phone? I need my screen replaced because it is cracked. The repair man says he needs my password to "check that everything is working". I'm not trying to give anyone my passcode because I don't trus anyone! And I have loads of personal information there that I don't intend on deleting. Wtf does he need my passcode for anyway. Can't he just see that it is working just by swiping through the screen to unlock the phone and tapping on the number pad?
- Need to take my iPhone in for repair at Apple what do I need to bring? I bought my iPhone 10 months ago from o2 ( not directly from apple ) do I still qualify for the one year warranty? If so what do I need to bring to prove It is under a years old?
- My iphone 5 got fully submerged in water So I was swimming with my friend in our lake and my iPhone 5 was in my pocket. And I jumped in. We swam for about 5 minutes. When we came back. Well, you know the rest. Now, I let it dry and plugged it in. Came on, no water damage on screen. Looked fine. But shut off shortly after. Is this recoverable? If so, how?
- Is there anyway I can bypass my passcode on my iPhone 4 or it's a 5 I'm not sure but I can't remember the passcode but I need it I know you can restore but I don't want to do that because I don't think I have the computer I backed it up to back then. And i don't know what update this is. Like I haven't see the emergency button there at all in any videos
