IPhone update delete everything?
I have an iPod touch 4th generation as well as a 4th generation iPhone and they have never been updated since i've bought them. I recently got a new laptop and i want to update both ipod and iphone to the newest versions. But if update it, will it delete everything? Apps? Music? Contacts? Messages? Photos? I don't know how to backup these things so if there's any help please let me know thanks.
To activate your device you must have connected it to iTunes first (one of the requirements by Apple) which created iTunes library for you. If you connect your phone to the same iTunes library - you're OK. If you connect it to another one… Then yeah, everything will be gone.
If you're signed in to your iCloud (make sure that everything is "ticked" there) then everything will come back once you sign in to your iCloud again
First thing is the backup.
1) Connect to itunes. It does a backup of your device automatically.
2) Updating iOS only updates OS. Doesn't delete anything.
1.connect device, go to summary tab.
2. Check for updates. There should be a button to click.
3.itunes does the rest.follow instructions.
- Will updating my iPhone delete everything? I have a iPhone 4S, the iOS 6 came out today, I've never updated my iPhone so will updating it delete everything? Pictures? If it does i'll honestly die. If it doesn't, how do i go about installing it? Do i have to use my laptop?
- Will iOS 7 delete everything on my iPhone 5 if I update it? I've been curious and wondered if iOS 7 will delete my stuff if I didn't back it up on my computer. I have a non jailbroken iPhone 5 with iOS 6.1.4 and I have a lot of apps and photos and music that I'd like to keep when I update it to iOS 7
- When I connect my iPhone to itunes, will it delete everything? I have never connected my iPhone to my computer but lately it's been acting up so I want to back it up and get the 5 in September if it's out. But I'am scared if I plug it into the computer, it will delete my videos and photos cause I didn't register it on my computer. I'm not a tech guy so yeah. If you guys can give me some instructions, that would be awesome.
- Quick! Does restoring my iPhone delete everything? Well I tried updating my iPhone but it came up with this error message and said that I needed to restore my iPhone if I want to carry on using it. The thing is, I have so much music on my iPhone. If I restore it, will it wipe everything off iTunes aswell or just my phone? Cream: 'ye' to what?
