IPhone water damage could it be my battery?
I dropped my iPhone in the toilet a few months ago and I took it all apart cleaned it with rubbing alcohol put it back together and it workers but only when it's plugged in I think it might be the batterie any thought? Anyone els have the same problem really love some input I really don't want to go out and buy a new one
Added (1). Sorry it's the iPhone 4S from stright talk I got it around Christmas time what kind of batterie should I get and any suggestions on where to get it
It's highly recommended to replace the battery after a water damage. Batteries don't really like being short circuited, it could be dangerous to continue using it. And it's cheap.
If you mean iPhone 1G (the one with aluminum back), you should get a battery like this one: iPhone Gen 1 Replacement Battery
If you mean iPhone 3G (actually the 2nd generation), you should get this battery: iPhone 3G Replacement Battery
- Would replacing the battery on the iphone 5 fix water damage? I want to buy a water damaged iphone 5 from someone. He said it was quickly token out but was completely submerged. He said all he tried was a can of air but that's it. Should I take the risk and replace the battery? Would that work? What else could I try? He's selling it for 200
- My iPhone 4 suffered heavy water damage, will it be okay? I went in the pool with it not realizing it was in my pocket. I was in the pool for about 5-10 minutes before I realized it was in my pocket. It was on when I went in the pool but was off when I got out. I now have it sitting in a bowl of rice and I plan on leaving it in there for a week, changing the rice it's in every 24 hours. Does anyone have any insight on this, like if there's any hope of it being okay or is it done for?
- Iphone water indicators not pink, still possible water damage? Hypothetically, if you got your iphone 4s wet, but the water indicators are not triggered at all, is it still possible the phone has water damage on the inside that apple would find if they took it apart?
- Iphone submerged in water, logic board has water damage? My phone was under water for 10 sec. Atleast and in my wet pocket for about 2 minutes. Led wouldnt turn off and power / lock button didn't work… Put it in rice and two days later i charge it apple logo pops up then writing pops up above the apple logo. Will the guy taking my phone to clean it out and try to fix it need my passcode? And will my contacts, apps, photos, music, internet history still be on my phone? Like when he fixes it turns and on and stuff?
