IPhone X battery draining while charging?
My iPhone X battery has been draining while charging. I called apple support and he told me I needed to take the new IOS update and that he doesn't see anything wrong with my battery. However before he could finish helping me, my phone died. I finally got it back on, took the update, and it's srill draining! Can someone give me tips on how to fix this? I tried different chargers, different outlets, turned it off and on. Someone please help!
The operating system has bossibly got corrupted.
It happens, rarely.
Do a DFU restore.
Back up the phone first, if there's anything you want to safe.
Put it in DFU mode, while connected to itunes on a PC via the USB cable.
Let the restore complete. It takes quite a while. It's completely erasing the the phone and re-installing the operating system, like reformatting and reinstalling the OS on a PC.
When it's done, it restarts as if it's a new phone. At that point, you can restore your backup to get all you data etc., if you made a backup.
My iphone 6 did a similar thing just a few months after I got it new, the battery life dropped to only a few hours etc. And such as software resets from the menus had no effect.
It was the same cause - corrupt firmware for some reason. After reinstalling the system it's been fine ever since.

- Wouldn't turning off iPhone while charging shorten battery life? They say the iPhone has a battery life of 400 full charge cycles before it starts its decline. Ok here is the thing… A lot of talk on how to save battery life on the iPhone by charging habits such as turning the phone off while charging, airplane mode while charging, turn off Wi-Fi bluetooth etc… But if the phone charges faster… Wouldn't that increase the amount of full charge/discharge cycles and there for decreasing the life of the battery?
