IS 1GB of internet/date enough for my iPhone 5s?
As someone who would rarely use my phone away from my home wi-fi system, would this be enough? I would have my internet turned off away from home most of the time unless I was using it to check social networking sites (eg. Twitter and Tumblr) for maybe 5-10 minutes on buses or at break and lunch at school.
Also, can you use iMessage on a normal network connection or does it have to be 3G?
From your description, yes 1 GB would be enough data for you for a months usage. I regularly use much more due to the fact that I stream online radio most of the day at my job.
Also iMessage will work anytime you have a data connection, not just 3G. For me this means it will work over 1x, EVDO (shown as 3G on the iPhone), LTE, and Wi-Fi (I use a CDMA network, GSM is similar). If you turn off cellular data on your iPhone, iMessage will only work over Wi-Fi.
Do you mean 1 megabyte from your internet provider? If so yes but it would be really slow and you couldn't watch videos and if you wanted to update it would take a while. If you mean the phones internet provider you would be limiting your self a lot but yes that would work
IPhone 5s and only 1gb of data a month? Hmm depending on your cellular provider i highly doubt they have plans that include only 1gb of data a month. I believe 2 is the cut off. I would suggest doing at least 2 to be on the safe side because you never know. And alot of apps run location services in the background which also stream data.

Videos - lots of data (GB. Per month)
but simple text and web pages - small data (50-100MB / month)
So face book for 30 mins a day… Not a problem
but your phone should should be able to show data used this period and also you can go to your network webpage and your account to see the used ammount (up to the day before).
Many networks have an app to download and check also

- Would 1gb of data be enough for the iphone 4s? I plan on getting the 1gb of data per month and wondering if it would be enough for me because i don't want to go over and pay loads of money. I would be on twitter, instagram and snapchat mostly, but connecting to Wi-Fi when available. Also should i turn my data off everytime i can connect to Wi-Fi to save data or will it not be used when connected to Wi-Fi? When should i turn data off.
