Is 6 GB a lot of data?
I'm going on a cruise and I would like to buy an internet plan so I can use my iphone to take pictures and put them on Snapchat and Instagram. I'm not really planning on using much internet besides the occasional google search. The cruise line offers a data limit of 6 GB throughout the length of our 8 day cruise for 2 phones. Is that a lot of data? Will that last if we only use those few things? If anyone has any tips on how to make those 6 GB last longer I would appreciate that as well!
No it isn't and that won't even last you two days
Probably not. That's 3 gb per phone over 8 days. If you're uploading pictures of everything that you snap, those 3 gb will be gone in a hurry.
You can reduce what you use by taking and uploading lower resolution pictures.
You'd be surprised how much data you use.
Not likely, but you can save them to you return.
In my experience, that's not only not enough data, but you'll be shocked at the low speed of cruiseline internet calling itself high speed.
What I prefer is to not buy cruise internet but use the cell signal--free Wi-Fi if I can find it--when we're ashore. Posting pix to social media doesn't have to be immediate.
I've cruised a lot and that isn't nearly enough. I travel a lot in general, so I bought a mobile hotspot for $80. When I want to use it, it costs $8 for 24 hours, you buy time in 24 hour blocks. It will work anywhere there's a cell signal, so it won't work on the ship unless you are in port, or on land. Most ports have places with free or inexpensive Wi-Fi, just ask any crew member you see getting off the ship, they always know where it is.
One thing, if you use a hotspot, or Wi-Fi, make sure you put your phone on airplane mode, then turn on Wi-Fi, blue tooth, and Wi-Fi calling. Turn off data.

- Is 500mb a lot of Data for an iphone? I'm planning on getting an iphone and I have two plan options. One offers me 500 mb's of Data and the other 1Gb. I'm big on social networking so I'd probably be using facebook, twitter and instagram a lot. I will probably check my e-mail every now and again but not often. I was just wondering if 500 mb's would be enough?
- Is 1GB of Data a lot on iPhone 4S? Ok so i've recently ordered my iPhone 4S that has 500 Texts, 5000 Minutes and 1GB Data, my question is would 1GB of data be enough for receiving emails, watching the odd youtube video, probably 3-5 a month on DATA, and maybe the odd browsing.
- Is 16gb a lot of memory/storage? I'm thinking about getting an iPhone, and I was just wondering if 16GB is a lot of storage/memory or not.
- IPhone loses charge overnight.a lot of charge. Why? My iPhone 4S was on 5.1.1 but i did restore the software last week and used a backup to also restore the files. Since then I have been losing about 35-40% of my battery overnight, I'm a very power-conscious person, I only use wi-fi, 3g when i need to and i usually keep everything off except data, notifications are to a minimum and location services are off as well as brightness being as low as possible. What is going on? Any help is appreciated
