Is 750MB of mobile data enough for me?
Been offered a cheap upgrade deal to get the latest iPhone, but O2 are dropping my data allowance to 750MB a month. In simple terms, I use my phone for tweeting and watching funny YouTube videos - is this enough or do I need to increase my data allowance?
It will depend on many video you plan on watching and whether you can use Wi-Fi instead of data. What was your data at before 02 decided to drop it down and were you going over or close to going over? You need to check your bills and see.
If you are a heavy user when out and about then 750mb isn't a lot. I'm personally on a 5GB plan and use about 3GB per month but I do browse a lot on the go.
As a rough guide 750mb will get you the following each month:
Send 750,000 emails (without attachments) a month
Send 1500 emails with 0.5mb photo attached a month
View a basic webpage 7500 times a month
View a rich content webpage 2250 times a month
Download a music track on average 75 times a month
Download a YouTube video on average 90 times a month
Stream 5.25 hours of high quality video a month
It's very less. YouTube plus twitter no way.
By the way what is your twitter account name?
Depends on how often you're without of Wi-Fi. I mean, if the majority of the time you're at home, work/school or at friends and you have Wi-Fi access, then you won't be using a lot of data.

- What could I do with 750MB and or 1GB? I want to get an iPhone 5 for Christmas but I don't know which contract to get? I use my phone a lot everyday and would use it a lot if I had an iPhone, for twitter, Facebook, instagram, tumblr and most other apps too. I don't which contract to get either the 750 MB or 1 GB because I'm scared I would go over the amount so which one is best and what could I do with both?! (both contracts have unlimited texts, just the amount of data and the minutes change) Thank-you
- Using my O2 free mobile data in Spain - do I turn data roaming on or will this charge? It's now free to text and call and use mobile data in Europe and I'm on contract with O2 and have unlimited everything. I'm just wondering if on my iPhone I have to turn data roaming on to get this or will this charge me? How does it work? As when I turn on my mobile data without data roaming the 3G doesn't work until I actually turn on data roaming?
- Is virgin mobile 3g fast enough? Using the iphone 4? how long does it take, on average, to load your facebook homepage? (just as an example) is it less than 10 seconds? Less than 5? Does it vary a lot for you?
