Is a 6 year old old enough to have her own phone?

I have a bunch of old iPhones (6,7,8) saved up and I'm thinking of putting her into the family plan. What do you think of a 6 year old having a smartphone?

My oldest nephew is nine and doesn't have a phone of any kind yet.

Sure. See if you can get her a driver's license, too.

Ridiculous…

If the child is mature enough, I suppose so. We didn't get our gets phones until the 8th grade. Before that, they borrowed mom's phone when needed.

This toddler is probably too young for a phone right now.

I doubt it.

Wait a few more years.

Have you lost your mind? Of course not.

I think it's ridiculous. But in the store I see them all the time. Make up, hair styles, little tiny high heels yapping on their phones. So I guess you can if you want. She'll want to get married at 10.

Depends on the 6 year old, the reason the parent wants them to have a phone. As a Wi-Fi video player/game machine, in waiting rooms, airports, sure. Daycare/school while on a field trip, so teachers can reach the parents/grandparents, yup.

Just to have a phone, to have a phone? Your kid, you decide.

No, she isn't…
