Is an iphone without a data plan considered a feature phone?
I want to know because at&t has recognized I'm using an iphone but they know it's without data and don't charge a data plan.

No, it will be considered a smart phone since the IMEI number of your phone is registered in AT&T's database as an iPhone. Unfortunately you won't be able to use the data for non-smartphone plan aka MediaNet plan.
- Will I receive data charges for using the hotspot feature on my iphone? I would like to use the internet on my laptop during a road trip. Can I connect to the internet using an Apple iPhone 4? If I do so, will I receive data charges on my iPhone or will this use up my monthly allowed data as per my monthly data plan?

My iPhone was stolen today and a little after i found it on find my iphone it suddenly said "can no longer track iphone locked or erased" I'm assuming this means they erased my iphone from putting in the wrong passcode 10 times but is it now factory setting? Can they now use it while they couldn't when it had a passcode and my information.
