Is doing 100 sit ups a hour to extreme and when will I start seeing results?

The problem with today's society is that nobody wants to wait for any results. My advice would be to take it slow for the first couple months. It may seem easy, but remember that your body needs to work up to doing 100 situps at a time. There are some great applications for the android and iPhone that help mitigate the risk of quitting early, and helping to break up the workouts. The ones I'm using are by clearsky, and they are working wonders for me.

I have on for 100 situps in 10 weeks, 100 squats in 10 weeks, and 200 pushups in 10 weeks. I'm also using their app to train for a 5K in 8 weeks, which today will end week 5. They work well. I would highly recommend using those for any type of workout you decide to do.

It is not extreme at all. Even my unhealthiest friends could accomplish this.
You will see little to no results this way.
For ab workouts you wanna do like
3 sets of 20 crunches
4 sets of 20 ab twists
Etc repetition and form is the best thing you could focus on but simply doing 100 sit-ups will not get you results

I started doing pushups at 12yrs old.
i started with 35 and added 1 or 2 a day until i was at 125
i never saw huge muscles, but i was in good shape and cut looking.
and i think those pushups changed my body long-term
(i could still see results years later). It opens the rib cage and makes bones grow bigger etc…

i would agree that form is important.
i did the pushups with my feet on the couch, back straight, and touch my nose to the ground.

Maybe you should see a doctor, they can help you

No it's not extreme. Abs work out that work best for me just like any other muscle group, intense burst work outs pushing the muscle to failure. Also to actually see the abs defined require low body fat no matter how strong you make your abs, if there's a fat layer over top, they stay hiding.
