Is imessaging with iPhones free?

I'm in Korea using only Wi-Fi and want to text my friend in the US who uses Wi-Fi and 3G. Would imessaging be free? Even if one is on Wi-Fi and one is on 3G?

Yes it is.

Yups, imessaging may just include the service carrier charges so when both of u r using web services through wi-fi then imessaging would be completely free of cost

Fcorss its free, its a gift from apple as well as with facetime: D

Yes, it is free for you. As long as you use Wi-Fi, you won't get charged but on the other hand, your friend will get charged because he is using 3G. And yes it will work even if you are on Wi-Fi and your friend is on 3G.

Yes it would be free. For you at least. For him/her there would be a charge if he/she uses 3G.

  • Is Wi-Fi text messaging from iphones free to non-iphones? - 1 My boyfriend downloaded this texting thing on his iPhone that allows him to text me when he's out of the country without charging him extra for long distance. Will I still be charged if I text him? There's a different number when he texts from Wi-Fi so I will be sure to text that, but will I be charged anyways?
