Definitely, later versions are all far better hardware.
You can recycle your old phones or ipods on apple's site and they will give you store credit for it, so at least you will get something back for it.

No, the iphone 4's screen is way too clear and unpixelated for me. I hate that the pictures i take are clear too! The iphone 4 is way too fast!
