Its just a new model, nothing has really been improved, excepy a new charger also, so if you ever need to use your iphone charger to charge your ipod/ipad you can't! Its a tiny bit longer than the 4s wich means youll have a very hard time finding a phone case that you like AND on that actually fits. Don't get one!
Obviously the later version is best, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that.
Yes. It has LTE, Removable storage, thin and a whole lot more features.

Well newer models tend to be better than older models. It's a thinner, lighter, faster, and larger (screen-size) phone. It has some additional features that the 4S does not have (not many though, nor any that's rather impressive).
The iPhone 5 is not much of an improvement from the 4S really. But it is a slightly better device.

Yes, the iPhone 5 is better than the iPhone 4S, but not only for reasons you would expect:
1. Naturally, it is a later model, so it is faster
2.It is lighter
3.It is thinner
4.It is made of materials that aren't even remotely as fragile
5.It has a larger screen (the perfect size for watching Hulu Plus)
6.It has a MUCH higher resell value (Very useful when you want to upgrade or if you damage your phone in a way not covered by the warranty and need to sell it and get another.)
7. The smaller USB cable reduces chances of bending pins inside (something that is not covered by your one year warranty.)
