Is is possible to put the hard drive of an iPhone 4 into another iPhone 4?
My iPhone won't turn on! It was on the last time I checked and it won't turn on even putting the charger on. So I'm wondering if I get another iPhone will it be possible to put the hard drive onto the new one. I know I will have to take the whole thing apart but can it be done?
IPhone? Hard drive?
No such thing.
OK it does have a solid-state equivalent, but it's hard-wired into the phone.
Short answer… NO
IPhones have something called "solid state drives" which are basically very small hard drives which have no moving parts and use less power.
Technically you could open it up and move it to a new one, but the chance of breaking something on the working iPhone or breaking the solid state drive (so you lose all of your content) is extremely high.
You need to take the iPhone into an Apple store and ask them if there's any way of getting the content off it onto a new iPhone.
Also, if you've backed up your iPhone, you'll be able to restore the working iPhone to how the original one was set up.

Everytime you sync your iPhone to iTunes, it automatically backs up everything on your iPhone. If you attach a new iPhone to your computer for the first time, iTunes will ask you if you want to restore from your backup. No need to take the hard drive out.
- Will replacing my existing laptop hard drive affect my iTunes/iPhone? I'm pretty sure I already know the answer but with me possibly losing my data from the main 2 devices I use in life I want to be sure. I've made a system image using windows 7's built-in backup software and will be replacing my faulty hard drive with a larger capacity new one. Seeing as it's a full system image it should save all the iTunes program data, settings, media (songs/videos) and iPhone backup shouldn't it?
- Wi-Fi hard drive and iphone backup? Ok so i have an iPhone 5 and i have it backed up to my laptop through itunes. In my Wi-Fi router it has a 1.8 tb hard drive and i was wondering if i can back my iphone 5 up to the hard drive in the router.
- What place can recover hard drive data from a dead iPhone 4? My phones battery circuitry short circuited from water damage. So my iPhone can't charge and is completely out of battery. Is there any place that can take out the hard drive and recover the data (music, contacts, pictures) and put it on my current phone?
- Using my iPhone 5 as a USB stick/external hard drive? I need to move some stuff from my laptop (a Mac) onto my girlfriends laptop (a PC).Is there an app you can download or some technique?
