Is it better to back up an iPhone on iCloud or a laptop?
I'm not sure if i should continue to back up my iPhone on my laptop or iCloud.
I don't want to lose any data.
Which one is safer?
How does each one work?
It really depends on how you go about using the iPhone. If you regularly sync your phone with iTunes, I'd stick with iTunes backups. If not, use iCloud. My best recommendation is backing up to both, just in case something happens to your iCloud account, or if you run out of the 5GB of free storage and don't want to upgrade. On the inverse, if something happens to the laptop, you've got the iCloud backup handy.
It all depends on how much stuff you have on your phone, and if you are interested in paying for extra storage. By default all users are given 5 GB of iCloud storage, which is actually peanuts, when you think about all of the items we have on our phones, pictures and videos alone can take up 5 GB. My personal preference is backing up to my computer, simply because I don't want to pay extra for more icloud space. Plus, it's better to back all of your iTunes items up to an external drive as well, just in case something is lost, then you can restore it from your back up. Keep in mind as well that iTunes in the Cloud is different than iCloud backup. ITunes in the Cloud holds a record of your iTunes Store purchases but, if you have something that gets removed from the store, or is modified since its original purchase, you also lose the ability to get it back from iTunes in the Cloud. I only mention this because there are people who will use iTunes in the Cloud as a way of backing up their purchases, and get upset when they are lost.
It very depends on however you approach mistreatment the iPhone. If you often synchronise your phone with iTunes, i might stick to iTunes backups. If not, use iCloud. My best recommendation is backing up to each, simply just in case one thing happens to your iCloud account, or if you run out of the 5GB of free storage and do not wish to upgrade. On the inverse, if one thing happens to the laptop computer, you have the iCloud backup handy.
I do it on my computer personally but either or is fine. Of course if you don't have a computer anyway that answers the question for itself.
They both work the same. A backup is stored & there for whenever you may need it. Backing up regularly helps as well.
