Is it cheaper to add a temporary international plan or buy a temporary phone for a trip to euripe?

I'm going on a trip to Europe (from the US) for a few days and I would like to be able to call/text while I'm away. I have an iPhone through at&t, and I was debating whether or not to buy a temporary phone with an international SIM card, or get a temporary international plan through at&t. Just wondering if anyone has any experience or advice for this.

Same phone, same deal as you - we bought the ATT plan ( no longer with them!) and did not use it AT ALL. Used hotel and cruise ship Wi-Fi and Skyped home, emailed, texted - all from Wi-Fi or hotspots. Of course, got Avast protection to scan every hotspot and tell us if it was secured - and if not, THEY secured it. Free - and keeps you safe. If you are actually going to be calling people IN THAT COUNTRY - get a SIM for there. We called home (to US) only - Skype.

  • Will my cell phone plan with verizon be cheaper if I get the iPhone separately? I plan on switching to Verizon soon, yet I will be on a budget since I'll also be living on my own for college. So my question is, can I open up an account with Verizon, buy a cheap phone with data and texting etc. On it, THEN buy a Verizon iPhone off of ebay? Also, how much would the monthly charge be if I was to buy an iPhone 5 with its plan at Verizon?

  • Should I buy a temporary phone? Iv been using a galaxy s5 for over 2 years and I'm due for an upgrade. I'v promised myself I'd wait for the iphone X and its finally here. My phone currently has many problems. It needs a new battery, battery cover, new USB cable and any cable I use, my phone would not charge I have to keep playing around with it.
