Is it illegal to bring an iphone that was bought in England?
It's cheaper to buy an iphone in England but I live in Ireland is it illegal to bring it over?
I bought mine all the way from malaysia. No problem at all
Nope, my stepdad sold some to a turkish man an he goes an sells them in turkey
No, it's allowed. You can pretty much buy a phone anywhere and bring it to any other country. The only problem you might have is that some types of phones won't work in some countries they weren't made to work in - but that's a technical problem, not a legal one.
They are international items
BUT…
unless you get it new from an Apple Store as an Unlocked one, it won't be
alternatively it will need to be a second hand one, that has been unlocked by the original owner / network it is locked to.
All iPhones (that are not from apple direct) lock to the 1st Network SIM that is put in then, and the unlocked ones from network shops are often only unlocked to UK networks (not world/EU networks).
So beware.
UK apple iPhone 5 (UK warrenty)
http://store.apple.com/...ct=IPHONE5 16GB - £520.00
Eire (Irishg Warrenty)
http://store.apple.com/...ct=IPHONE5 16GB - €679.00
1 pound = 1.17 Euro today so
520 * 1.17 = 610 Euro… Yep, a bit of a saving but now you need a SIM only contract…
It is not illegal. I live in Ireland and when I want a new phone, I go to Carphone Warehouse in Enniskillen, (Northern Ireland) and buy an unlocked one there - much cheaper! As they tell me in CPW, as long the network provider in the Republic has the necessary set up details, the phone will work in the Republic. Apparently, not all phones bought for use in the Republic can work, so best to check.
- Will my iPhone camera and apps work in England? I'm going to England for 2 weeks on Tuesday and was wondering if the camera and apps will all work. I don't care about the phone or texting part. Its an iPhone 5 and I have Verizon btw. I'd like to put pictures on Facebook and Twitter/update status/tweet etc. From my phone as well without having to use a computer.
- Will my iPhone 4 work in England? I'm going overseas this summer and fall for studying, and was wondering if I can have a contract over there, keeping my same iPhone. My carrier is Verizon.

- Where can I buy a CDMA phone (iPhone) in England? My iPhone was stolen in London, and since CDMA phones don't work in the UK, I was wondering if there was somewhere I could get one for fairly cheap (since all CDMA phones here are probably stolen). Any tips would be appreciated!
