Is it legal to report items not being given back to YOU after being arrested?
I was arrested recently. I'm considered a minor so my mother had to come pick me up. The officer in fact gave my mother a bag full of my items. I feel as if I should have been given my things due to the fact they are MINES. I paid for all the items including 2 iphones. She has not given me my items; Although she was not told to do so by the police officer. I just want to know if I report this will I be in the right about this situation. (For all they know I don't I live with my mother, speak to my mother or even if my mother is a crazy junkee!) Please give me an answer so I know what to do? Legally what are my rights in this situation?
If they are under 18 then they are not yours, unless you are paying your own rent, your own food, and your own electric bills.
You paid with what money, and you live where. As a minor you probably don't have much to stand on as far as claiming things are yours. They are may be exceptions such as you live with grandma, have a job you can prove, and receipts for the items. Other than that i wouldnt even try. The judge will laugh at you.
Minors have no legal right to property, except as held in trust.
Everything you think you own belongs to your mother, who can dole it out (or not), as she sees fit.
Not surprisingly, she does not find a kid who was arrested fit to have an iPhone. Sorry.
What yours is hers and hers is hers.
Nuff said…
Your Mother is legally responsible for you.
That means she owns all your stuff too.
When you hit 18 you can move out and do whatever you like. Until then some your whining.
- Would you have given him the pretzel? Walking into the mall i saw a guy panhandling outside so i decide to get the guy a pretzel from this place because it has a lot of carbs which would be good for him. Walking out i saw him looking at something which i thought was a dog but turned out to be a iphone he was hiding behind the sign so i decided not to give him the pretzel cause hes a faker
- What items can you take with you to boot camp? My girlfriend is going to Marines boot camp in a month and we don't talk about all the details and she won tell me if I ask. So I was wondering what you can and can't take. Like can you take an iPhone or any phone? Is there any way we can talk? Also regular items you need. And items you SHOULDN'T take
- Is it legal to buy items online and sell them? I often go on ebay and buy iPod cases and cords for $99 and even clothes for a couple bucks from Asia. I had an idea but need to know if it's legal to do. For example if I buy 10 of one shirt for $3 each or like 50 iPhone cables for $30, would I be able to sell the shirts for say $10 each or the cables for $5 each here in North America? I meant to say cables and cases for 99 cents not dollars haha
- Is it legal for someone take videotape you without consent if you are underage? I was driving home and was followed by some couple who, when i stopped, were videotaping me with their iphone. There was no one around, then they proceeded to cuss me out. Is it legal for them to have videotaped me if I was alone, under the age of 18, and did not know these people?
